BROWNS SIGN TE CHAD MUSTARD AND DL TYRONE ROGERS

Place DE Courtney Brown on Injured Reserve and Waive RB Dee Brown

 

The Cleveland Browns have signed free agents TE Chad Mustard and DE Tyrone Rogers to the active roster, placed DE Courtney Brown on Injured-Reserve and waived RB Dee Brown, the club announced today.

 

Mustard, 6-6 and 288 lbs., played in 10 games last season for the Browns with four receptions for 29 yards.  Mustard was with the Browns during training camp and was waived on Sept. 5, for the final 53-man roster.

 

Rogers, 6-5 and 280 lbs., played the last five seasons with the Browns (1999-2003) and during his career in Cleveland has appeared in 57 games with 17 starts, totaled 108 tackles, including 73 solo, 12 sacks for 60 yards, five PBU, one forced fumble and two recovered fumbles.  Last season for the Browns, Rogers appeared in eight games with 21 tackles, including seven solo, and one sack for two yards.  Rogers signed with Green Bay in the summer and was waived by the Packers at the end of training camp.

 

 

UPDATE ON COURTNEY BROWN, DAYLON MCCUTCHEONAND KELLEN WINSLOW

 

Earlier today, Cleveland Browns DE Courtney Brown had surgery to stabilize a ‘Lis Franc’ ligament tear in his left foot, TE Kellen Winslow had surgery to stabilize his fractured right fibula, and DB Daylon McCutcheon had surgery to stabilize his fractured finger. 

 

All three surgeries went as expected and the prognosis for a full recovery for all players is excellent.  Dr. Anthony Miniaci perfomed the surgery on Courtney Brown and Kellen Winlsow, and Dr. Thomas Hunt performed the surgery on Daylon McCutcheon.  All three surgeries were performed at the Cleveland Clinic.
